Frequently Asked Questions About Lake Como Chauffeur Service

  • Hourly bookings start with a block of up to five hours, priced per car at a fixed rate for each class. Need longer? A full day covers 8 to 10 hours at a flat rate, with the waiting time between villas included. The full amount appears before you pay. It won't change afterwards.

  • Yes. It's the trip most visitors need first. Como is about an hour from central Milan and Bellagio about 90 minutes. The fare is fixed for the whole car. Your driver collects you at the door and drops you at your lake hotel, luggage included. Same in reverse when you leave.

  • Choose Malpensa (MXP) as the pickup point and enter your hotel or villa. Pick a vehicle class and pay online, and the confirmation arrives straight away. Your driver tracks the flight and meets you in arrivals with a name board. Waiting is free for 90 minutes, so a late landing costs nothing. A day ahead is enough for most dates. From June to September, give it a few days.

  • There's no simple answer. Set fares cover the run from Malpensa into Milan, so for Como ask for the price before you get in. A chauffeur booking fixes the amount in writing before you fly, and waiting time is included if the flight is late. The price is per car, so it stays the same for one person or four.

  • Sometimes. The Uber app shows the route, mostly as Uber Black with NCC drivers. The fare moves with demand. Getting a car back from the smaller lake towns can be harder. Many visitors pre-book both directions: the car is confirmed in advance and the price doesn't move.

  • By road it's about 32 km up the eastern side of the Como arm. Allow 45 minutes to an hour. The road twists around Nesso and gets narrow in places. A driver drops you on the Bellagio waterfront with your bags, and you never have to read a boat timetable.

  • By car, in about 90 minutes from Linate or 100 minutes from Malpensa. There's no train to Bellagio. Your driver goes round by road, or uses the car ferry from Cadenabbia if it saves time. Bergamo (BGY) is a good option too, by way of Lecco.

  • Yes, if you keep it simple. One shore, two towns at most. Leave Milan by 9 and walk Villa Carlotta before the crowds. Lunch in Bellagio, back for dinner. The car waits while you visit, and a full day of 8 to 10 hours runs at a flat rate. Starting from the city? See our Milan chauffeur page.

  • No. The lake starts about 50 km north of Milan, at the foot of the Alps. Como town sits at its southwestern tip, an hour's drive from the city.

  • Yes. Fuel and parking are in the price. So are tolls on the A8 and A9 from Milan. There's no surcharge for night pickups or luggage either.

  • Economy and Comfort sedans for short trips between towns. Business means a Mercedes E-Class or similar. Premium is the S-Class. Families with luggage usually take the Mercedes V-Class, which seats up to 7. Wedding parties often book minibuses, from 10 to 19 seats. Every class comes with a professional driver, and the price is for the car, however many people are in it.

  • Yes. Hire with a driver in Italy requires an NCC licence, and every driver in our Lake Como network works through a licensed operator. Drivers are background-checked and used to these roads, at night as well as in summer traffic. Vehicles are inspected regularly and fully insured. Support answers around the clock on WhatsApp or live chat.

  • You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before pickup, with a full refund to the original payment method. Child seats and boosters cost nothing extra in any vehicle class. Tell us the child's age and weight when booking so the right seat is in the car.
